The competition is heating up on Fox’s hit talent search series “American Idol,” and that’s just between the judges. Acid-tongued Simon Cowell and fellow judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson traded barbs in a news conference Monday that included the show’s eight young finalists. While his ‘NSYNC-mate Lance Bass is making waves in outer space, Joey Fatone – like Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst – just wants to direct. Already a veteran in front of the camera, Fatone recently filmed a video for Latin music star Luis Fonsi in Florida, where the two were high-school friends and members of an a cappella pop group called Big Guys. Durst Catches 'Runt' For Directing Bow


Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst, eager to become a movie director, is now eyeing a different project on which to make his debut. Daily Variety reported on Monday that he would shoot “Life Without Joe,” a thriller described as “Deliverance” for the younger set.
