After making an “Unplugged” performance with the Roots, it seems that Jay-Z can’t get enough of performing with big-name backup. Korn bassist Fieldy, Limp Bizkit drummer John Otto and Static-X guitarist Wayne Static will back up Jigga when he performs at the ESPN Action Sports & Music Awards ceremony, which will be held on April 13 at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. Marilyn Manson, Disturbed’s David Draiman, Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, Static-X’s Wayne Static, and Orgy’s Jay Gordon have been drafted to sing five tracks co-written by Korn’s Jonathan Davis and multi-instrumentalist Richard Gibbs for the upcoming “Queen of the Damned” soundtrack. If there’s an upside to Poison bassist Bobby Dall’s recent emergency back surgery, it’s that the hair metal kings have had time off the road to write their next album. After toughening up her sound on 2002’s multi-million-copy-selling Missundaztood, Pink will continue to move further from R&B and closer to rock & roll on her third album, Try This, due November 11th. The first single, “Trouble,” will likely make its way to radio next month, and Pink has already shot a video for the song. Missundaztood found Pink collaborating extensively with former 4 Non Blondes singer Linda Perry, who has returned to co-write tracks for Try This.
