Dick Clark Has Mild Stroke

Looks like it’s going to be a less rockin’ New Year’s Eve this year. The perennially youthful-looking Dick Clark will likely be taking it easy on December 31. Clark suffered a mild stroke on Monday and is currently recovering in a Los Angeles hospital. The 75-year-old television icon has been living with type two diabetes for the last 10 years, but has been a beacon of hope for anyone on the way to their golden years, barely visibly aging a day in just over three quarters of a century. Clark only announced the news of his ailment earlier this year.… Read more »

Osbournes As AMA Hosts Might Worry Network, But Not Dick Clark

With the Osbournes hosting the next American Music Awards, the telecast could prove more edgy than in the past. But show producer Dick Clark is not concerned about his decision to enlist the services of the often-foul-mouthed Ozzy Osbourne and his now-famous family. Clark said, “Well, there’s a lot of talk about the Osbournes, everybody’s stirring up this worry, worry, worry! The only person that’s worried is the ABC censor lady. She’s a tad concerned but, you know, I said to her, ‘They’re professionals. It’s gonna be fine…I hope.’” The 30th annual American Music Awards take place January 13 at… Read more »

Dick Clark Sues Ocean Liner

Dick Clark is suing the operator of the historic Queen Mary ocean liner, alleging that fraud and breach of contract prevented construction of a music-themed museum as part of a $150 million tourism project. The Superior Court lawsuit filed this month by Delaware-based Dick Clark Communications claims Queens Seaport Development breached an October 1999 agreement to develop and maintain Dick Clark’s Great American Music Experience. The project was to include the refurbishment of the adjacent Queen Mary Hotel and the development of nearby shops, restaurants and attractions, the lawsuit said, adding Queens Seaport agreed to give Clark’s firm $15,000 in… Read more »

Dick Clark's Suit Says Grammys Kept Jackson From AMAs

Dick Clark says Michael Jackson would be on the American Music Awards, but Michael Greene won’t let him. The TV personality/producer filed a $10 million lawsuit on Wednesday (December 19) against Greene, president and CEO of the Recording Academy, claiming that Greene’s Grammy booking policy prevents top artists from appearing on Clark’s American Music Awards. Clark’s suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges that Greene’s policy of refusing to book artists who perform at the AMAs – which will take place seven weeks prior to the Grammy Awards – caused a breach of contract by forcing Jackson to back… Read more »

Kelly Clarkson Performs Intimate Rendition Of Paramore’s “The Only Exception”

Kelly Clarkson, the multi-talented singer, and host of The Kelly Clarkson Show, has performed a heart-wrenching rendition of Paramore’s 2009 single “The Only Exception.”  Clarkson’s powerful performance on her morning segment, Kellyoke, offered a stripped-back cover of the hit single accompanied by Jaco Caraco’s delicate, acoustic strumming to create an intimate and captivating soundscape. Clarkson’s interpretation of the 2009 release demonstrated her ability to capture the essence of the song’s original format while adding her own unique twist. Her vulnerable delivery conveyed the song’s message of heartache and hope, much like Hayley Williams’ original vocal performance. Read more: Indie-Pop Band… Read more »

This Isn’t The First Time Green Day Has Changed Their Lyrics

Green Day has always been a politically charged band. It comes as no surprise that entering an election year in 2024, the trio would have something to say regarding the upcoming climate our nation will soon face. On New Year’s Eve, Green Day performed their classic hit, “American Idiot” on the televised Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special.
