Los Angeles – California pop-punk trio Blink-182, famed for its practical jokes and disdain for clothing, has gone on “indefinite hiatus,” with no plans to work together again, its Geffen Records label said Tuesday. A former roadie for Blink-182 claims he’s the smart aleck who came up with the title Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, which the band used in 2001 for its fifth album. Larry Palm filed a lawsuit against the band on Thursday in Los Angeles Supreme Court for breach of oral and/or implied contract, promissory estoppel, fraud and unjust enrichment. According to the lawsuit, Palm claims that Mark Hoppus, Tom Delonge and Travis Barker asked him for a suggestion for a title. Blink-182 are continuing their fine tradition of potty humor album titles, following up 2001’s Take Off Your Pants and Jacket with Use Your Erection I and II. Drummer Travis Barker revealed the Guns N’ Roses-inspired name at Saturday’s KROQ Weenie Roast, where he performed with the Transplants. He said the album is due October 28, although a spokesperson at the band’s label said it’s scheduled for November. Blink 182 singer/guitarist Tom Delonge became a proud papa on Monday (July 15) when his wife, Jennifer, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Ava Elizabeth Delonge was born at 5:30 a.m. PT in La Jolla, California’s Scripps Hospital. She weighed in at approximately 7 pounds. The timing couldn’t be better as the Blink wives, Jennifer and Skye Hoppus, the wife of bassist/singer Mark Hoppus, appear in this month’s issue of Pregnancy magazine. Bastions of ’90s punk Green Day and Blink-182 will embark on a co-headlining jaunt, beginning April 17 in Bakersfield, California. The 41-city Pop Disaster Tour will continue through June 17 in Minneapolis, according to a tour publicist. Venues have yet to be hammered out.
