Kanye works with Coldplay


Chris Martin will feature on the new Kanye West album, the hip hop icon has revealed. The Coldplay star appeared on “Beach Chair,” a track on Kingdom Come, Jay-Z’s return to the hip-hop world, last year. Kanye has now revealed that he and Martin have recorded a song called “Homecoming,” which is scheduled to be the first single from the follow-up to Late Registration. The LP is provisionally titled Graduation and is tentatively due for release towards the end of 2007, reports Billboard. EMI Say Coldplay, Gorillaz Responsible For Declining Profits


We know Coldplay are capable of wooing Gwyneth Paltrow, creating a media circus in Toronto and selling out concert halls in a matter of seconds. But it turns out the British softies are also responsible for a declining profit from EMI Group, their record company. Reuters reports British-based EMI, the world’s third-largest music company, said its full-year profit fell after delays in two key albums from Coldplay and the animated band Gorillaz. Coldplay Kick Off 36-City Twisted Logic Tour In August


After months of speculation and a smattering of semi-secret “buzz gigs” throughout North America, Coldplay have finally confirmed a full slate of dates in support of their upcoming third album, X&Y. The Twisted Logic Tour kicks off August 2 in Toronto and will hit an additional 35 cities before coming to a close on September 30. Punky alt-country act Rilo Kiley will serve as the opening act. Media reports say that Coldplay are having mixed feelings about getting up onstage again after their long recording break. So they started out slowly on March 4 playing a small gig in London where lucky fans and industry people got to preview new songs from the upcoming album. Coldplay is working on a live DVD of backstage, onstage and “stupid stuff,” according to the band’s bassist and de facto cameraman, Guy Berryman. “We want to make it good, not do it for the sake of doing it,” Berryman says. “I know a lot of bands go, ‘Oh, let’s just do a DVD,’ and get a film crew and they film it and record music and stick it out. Coldplay will visit the United States in mid-August to preview songs from its upcoming album, A Rush Of Blood To The Head, which arrives August 27 from Capitol Records.
