Christian rock band Evanescence is officially no longer a Christian rock band. Following a recent interview in which it used profanity and made clear that it does not want to be known as a Christian act, Evanescence’s albums are being pulled from Christian retailers and its material will be removed from the Christian charts. Provident Music Distribution, the Christian distribution arm of BMG’s Zomba unit, says it will no longer handle the Wind-Up Records act. The rock band Great White plans to perform together for the first time since the band’s Feb. 20 concert in Rhode Island resulted in a nightclub fire that killed 99 people. Survivors of the group say they will perform one song at West Hollywood’s Key Club on April 29 to raise money for a memorial fund in honor of their late guitarist, Ty Longley, the group’s manager, Paul Woolnough, said Friday. Family, friends and surviving members of the iconic British rock band The Who attended the funeral of virtuoso bass player John Entwistle on Wednesday at a rural church. Guitarist Pete Townshend, vocalist Roger Daltrey and drummer Kenny Jones, who replaced Keith Moon after his death in 1978, attended the service at St. Edward’s Church in Stow-on-the-Wold.
