Hagar & Roth: Sans Halen Tour?

Well, all they need now is Gary Cherone. In what could be the most dynamic pairing since, well, since either of ’em last hung out with Eddie Van Halen, former Van Halen frontmen David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar are reportedly discussing a possible summer tour together. That’s right, the power-lunged singers-who each fronted the rock group during two distinct eras (party metal and adult-contemporary, respectively) and each ended up splitting from the band-have met for the first time and are now in talks to team up. Hagar broke the news this week on his official Website, RedRocker.com, saying, “Believe… Read more »

Van Halen Meets Bad English

It’s Bad English meets Van Halen. Neal Schon and Deen Castronovo, of Bad English, have teamed with Sammy Hagar and Van Halen’s Michael Anthony for a supergroup with a working name of Planet Us. One song, tentatively called “Vertigo,” will be presented for consideration on the “Spiderman” soundtrack this summer. The group wants to tour but will have to schedule around Hagar and Journey, both of whom plan individual tours this summer.

System Of A Down Step Up To The Plate At Vegas Opener – Review

The last time System of a Down hit Las Vegas, it was on the Pledge of Allegiance Tour with Slipknot. System held their own on that outing, but now, back in Sin City as the headliner at a more intimate setting – the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino’s Joint – System had a lot more to prove. By the time the L.A. foursome of Armenian-American rockers strolled casually onto the stark stage, the crowd was already geared up for SOAD’s harsh and heavy sounds. Then the thunder hit. The opening riffs hammered across the venue – no introduction was needed… Read more »

Following the delay of Powerman 5000’s follow-up to Tonight the Stars Revolt, the band’s bass player, Dorian 27 (Dorian Heartsong) and drummer, Al 3 (Alan Pahanish) have left the group. According to a post on the band’s official Web site (www.powerman5000.com) “no replacements have been named but PM5K haven’t slowed their work on new songs.” Spider One explained his band mates’ departure saying, “This was 100% their decision, and in no way were asked to leave. I can’t really say why they made the choice that they did, that is something only they can tell you. As you know I… Read more »
