Long-quiet pop superstar Michael Jackson will return to the spotlight in September with a massive concert tribute to his own career that will include a reunion with the Jackson 5 and collaborations with ‘NSYNC, Britney Spears and Whitney Houston. Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have extended their rivalry to the shelves of 7-11. Aguilera and Spears, who have been slugging it out on the pop charts, will now wage their battle in the Cola wars. The Grammy-winning Aguilera just signed a U.S. sponsorship deal with soft drink giant Cola-Cola, only a month after Spears inked a deal to promote Pespi. Aguilera will star in a television ad for Coke that will air this summer. A commercial titled “Performance,” the first fruit of Britney Spears’ global marketing pact with Pepsi, will debut online via Yahoo! Sunday (March 25), at 6 p.m. ET, two hours before its broadcast premiere during the Academy Awards on ABC. Set in a Pepsi bottling plant, the clip features Spears singing the now familiar “Joy Of Pepsi” jingle, as well as a cameo by former senator Bob Dole. Pop superstar Britney Spears has arrived in Stockholm to begin recording her third Jive album with Max Martin’s new production company Maratone, according to Billboard Magazine. Calls to Jive seeking further details on the sessions went unreturned at press time. Martin produced Spears’ most recent album “Oops! … I Did It Again,” which is No. 37 on The Billboard 200 in its 38th week on the chart. Spears’ spokesperson at Jive Records maintains that a duet is still being discussed; Liz Rosenberg, Madonna’s longtime publicist, says all talks are off because of scheduling conflicts.
