The Used set to release 'Artwork'

The Used is proud to announce that its fourth album, Artwork, will be released on Sept. 1. Produced by Matt Squire, Artwork is a raw collection of 11 songs that not so delicately teeter between aggressively discordant and charmingly hooky. The first single, “Blood On My Hands,” premiered June 30; it sold over 5,000 copies in the first day and shot to No. 9 on the iTunes Alternative Chart. “‘Blood on my Hands’ sums up everything about The Used,” guitarist Quinn Allmann said. The single is confined chaos, brutally thrashing one moment and proffering a pop-driven, sing-along chorus the next.… Read more »

The Used Hate Los Angeles But Love To Write About It

Sometimes, being a fish out of water offers a more comprehensive view of the outside world. For the past two years, the Used’s frontman, Bert McCracken, has been living in Los Angeles, and while he hasn’t exactly been enamored with the city of artifice and entertainment, he has found the environment creatively inspiring. “I’ve had a good look at how people think in comparison to almost the whole rest of the world and it’s so ridiculous, it’s given me tons of song ideas,” the Utah native said. “I don’t even feel like a fish out of water here, I feel… Read more »

He might not be just some wacko, and he might not pose any kind of real threat. In fact, there’s a good chance he’s just a bored member of post-hardcore six-piece Chiodos, trying to abolish the ennui that comes with life on the road. “Every single day something ridiculous happens out here,” frontman Craig Owens explained. “We’ll dress someone up to go to a bar in a panda suit, and we’re always playing jokes… Read more »
