Heavy metal rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, famous for biting the head off a bat in his younger days, will play for Queen Elizabeth at a concert for the 50th anniversary of her accession, Buckingham Palace said on Monday. Osbourne and Latin pop idol Ricky Martin are the latest stars to join the June 3 pop concert in the gardens of Buckingham Palace which is part of the culmination of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, royal spokesmen said. Ozzy Osbourne, on his first tour of Japan in four years, will tape his performance Friday at Tokyo’s legendary Budokan Hall for a live album and DVD. Live at Budokan, a title most music fans associate with Cheap Trick’s bombastic 1979 live effort, is scheduled for a summer release. Zombie and Osbourne embarked on the Merry Mayhem tour on October 31, but dates had to be postponed due to a stress fracture in Ozzy’s leg.
