In their debut full-length album Our Own House, MisterWives redefine the sounds of the 80s dance era and the soul-funk of the 70s to make them completely their own.
2014 has got some stacked tour lineups already, and here’s another one for you: The Mowgli’s will be hitting the road with indie pop trio MisterWives (and Buried Beds on select dates). Following the release of their remix of MisterWives‘ “End Of My Rope” and their 2023 LP I’ve Loved You For So Long, The Aces have officially shared their spicy new single, “The Magic.” The indie-pop quartet has delivered a new queer romance bop, featuring groovy basslines and dance-inducing choruses. “She’s a work of art, can’t find it in my heart to leave her/I’ll go where you are, feel like I was made to please her/Written in the stars, never pulling us apart ‘cause/Babe, the magic is wherever we are,” Cristal Ramirez sings. Calling all gals who love sitting shotgun, Nessa Barrett just dropped the perfect song for you, “PASSENGER PRINCESS.” The alt-pop track serves as the first single from her forthcoming sophomore record AFTERCARE. The LP is set to arrive later in 2024 via Warner Records. The track “represents the intense honeymoon phase when you first enter in a new relationship. Ahead of the forthcoming release of their 14th LP Saviors, Green Day is sharing one final single today entitled “One Eyed Bastard.” The track is preceded by releases “The American Dream Is Killing Me,” “Look Ma, No Brains!,” and “Dilemma.” Animated by Rob Fidel, the accompanying new visuals perfectly pair with the pure punk riffs, certifiably catchy choruses, and urgent, revenge-centric lyrics. Green Day has always been a politically charged band. It comes as no surprise that entering an election year in 2024, the trio would have something to say regarding the upcoming climate our nation will soon face. On New Year’s Eve, Green Day performed their classic hit, “American Idiot” on the televised Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special.
