For his new album, Heathen, David Bowie has gotten a little “Modern Love” from the likes of Dave Grohl, Moby and Air. The Foo Fighters frontman contributes a guitar line to a track off Bowie’s latest LP, due June 11, according to Bowie’s publicist. Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has logged some time behind the drum kit with Nine Inch Nails, which is recording its first studio album since 1999’s “The Fragile.” Eagle-eyed fans spotted Grohl on Nine Inch Nails’ in-studio Web cam last week, sitting behind a mixing console. Foo Fighters frontman/rock drummer extraordinaire Dave Grohl is showing up everywhere – his latest gig is as the drummer on the new Killing Joke album, Billboard reports in the April 12 issue. The first single from the long-awaited Foo Fighters album, 1X1 (One By One), is “All My Life.” Foo frontman Dave Grohl is set to direct the video shoot for the clip next week. Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was saddened to learn that the Beatles’ guitarist-songwriter George Harrison had died due to cancer. “George Harrison was always my favorite Beatle,” Grohl said in a statement. “His quiet sensitivity always seemed so noble. The duo – recently united in a legal battle against their late band mate Kurt Cobain’s wife Courtney Love over a proposed Nirvana box set – were joined by Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, L7’s singer/guitarist Donita Sparks, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and legendary session drummer Jim Keltner ( John Lennon, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan ). Courtney Love has blocked the surviving members of Nirvana – Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic – from releasing one of the band’s final tracks, and she’s suing them for control of the group’s legacy. A Seattle judge has granted Love a preliminary injunction preventing the release of a Nirvana song called “You Know You’re Right,” which Grohl and Novoselic planned to include on a Nirvana box set due this fall.
