Former Blink 182 Roadie Sues Over Album Title

A former roadie for Blink-182 claims he’s the smart aleck who came up with the title Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, which the band used in 2001 for its fifth album. Larry Palm filed a lawsuit against the band on Thursday in Los Angeles Supreme Court for breach of oral and/or implied contract, promissory estoppel, fraud and unjust enrichment. According to the lawsuit, Palm claims that Mark Hoppus, Tom Delonge and Travis Barker asked him for a suggestion for a title. Palm says he suggested Take Off Your Pants and Jacket around January 2001, and entered into an oral… Read more »

Blink 182's Hoppus Narrowly Avoids Jackson/Hetfield Flameout

Blink 182, Green Day, and Jimmy Eat World haven’t had any major accidents on the Pop Disaster tour so far, but there have been several times the tour nearly lived up to its name. Blink 182 bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus revealed that he nearly had a Michael Jackson/James Hetfield moment when one of the pyrotechnic devices almost burned him at one of the first few shows in California. “I got a little too close to one of the pyro hits, and I smelled my hair on fire-not on fire, but it singed the back of my hair. Blink 182 feels comfortable following Green Day on the Pop Disaster tour partially due to the fact that Travis Barker’s drum set is a show-stopper. Barker’s drum kit rotates, spins, and elevates over the stage during the band’s performance. Blink 182 singer/bassist Mark Hoppus revealed where his wacky drummer got the idea. “Travis is a big fan of Tommy Lee and I think he wanted to try and outdo him for the drum stunt thing. I haven’t actually ever seen the Tommy Lee thing, but I think it would be pretty f-king hard to beat what Travis is doing right… Read more »

Blink 182 Goes For 'Stoner' Look On New Video

Blink 182 has finally unveiled the video for the song “First Date,” which was shot in Vancouver last August. We’re ’70s stoners just cruising the streets of Southern California…We’re ’70s stoners propelled into the future.” “First Date” was directed by Emmit and Brendan Malloy. Blink 182 Add Tour Dates

Blink 182 kicked off its tour on Wednesday (July 4) in Moline, Illinois at Mark Of The Quad Cities, and the band literally proved to naysayers that it gives a flaming flying fuck. As fans awaited the band, the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey played. As the curtain opened, fans were greeted by a giant “FUCK” sign engulfed in flames, circa Kiss 1977. The rest of Blink’s set also contained a heavy dose of pyrotechnics. Parents who accompanied their children to the show may have sat with mouths open in shock at the giant burning expletive in the background,… Read more »
