Grammys Reward "Genius"


Ray Charles’ Genius racked up plenty of company in the form of gramophone-shaped statuettes. The late soul legend won a total of eight awards at the 47th annual Grammy Awards Sunday night, including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Genius Loves Company and Record of the Year for “Here We Go Again” with Norah Jones. Bands often have to compete with other bands when lining up producers. Evan and Jaron had to compete with an entire record label. Semisonic Singer Doing Solo CD


Semisonic frontman Dan Wilson is at work on songs for his debut solo record, which is due for release next year. The album follows Semisonic’s All About Chemistry, which was released earlier this year. While Wilson has been at the helm for the still-together Semisonic for the last six years, he has also contributed his songwriting talents to Evan and Jaron’s self-titled debut record, co-writing “Ready or Not” with the Lowenstein brothers.
