BSB Explains Comments

Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson has released a statement clarifying and apologizing for comments he made on MuchMusic last week. While the group visited the network’s Toronto studio in the wake of the terrorist attacks against the United States, Richardson said, “I just think [the United States] are a little bit of an arrogant nation, and maybe this is a little bit of a humbling experience. It raises questions in my mind, what has our government done to provoke this action, that we don’t know about?” This week, after by beginning with thanks to fans for the “love and support you’ve… Read more »

The once fertile scene of Lollapalooza, Lilith Fair, the HORDE and Furthur has dried up in recent years, leaving the U.S. summer tour circuit a less festive place for traveling rock music festivals. So pop auteur Moby, in the wake of the success of his latest album, “Play,” has decided to do something about that. “I’ve spent a long time playing European festivals and was impressed by how eclectic and open they were,” explains Moby, whose Area: One tour opened Wednesday in Atlanta. “There was a period in the States where we had a few really interesting festivals…. Eminem Disses Limp Bizkit Members On D12 Album

The Eminem/Everlast feud has expanded to include Eminem’s one-time friends Fred Durst and DJ Lethal of Limp Bizkit. Eminem has some choice and predictably profane words for the pair on “Girls,” a track from the group D12’s forthcoming Devil’s Night. Eminem is apparently upset about a comment Lethal made in December during the Limp guys’ visit to “TRL.” Lethal, who was in House of Pain with Everlast but was also friends with Eminem, at first said of their beef, “They’re both men, they’ll work it out.” But he added that if the two were to take their differences outside the… Read more »

The DMCA legislation has given rise to a move by the RIAA to require radio stations streaming on the Internet to pay both performance and publishing royalty fees. If it is upheld in the online world, it’s also possible that the practice will be extended to on-air broadcasts,… Read more »
