Quinn Allman, guitarist for the Used, was arrested for opposing a police officer on Tuesday after a show in Jacksonville, Florida, and was imprisoned for almost 24 hours. Allman was busted while trying to prevent Lt. J.T. Crotty from arresting fan Crystal Joanne Gordon, who was loitering in the venue’s parking lot after the show. “I was signing autographs, and this cop had his searchlights shined on everybody, and he says, ‘You have to leave the premises right now. Melissa Joan Hart, television’s “Sabrina, The Teenage Witch,” is engaged to rocker Mark Wilkerson of the band Course of Nature, Wilkerson’s publicist said. Wilkerson proposed the day after Christmas, and no wedding date has been set. It will be the first marriage for both. “I knew she was the one a week after we started going out and it’s been that way ever since,” the band’s guitarist and lead vocalist said in a statement. Gus Dudgeon, a respected music producer who worked on many of Elton John’s hit recordings, died Sunday in a car crash in western England. He was 59. Dudgeon was killed when his car veered off a major highway and overturned near Reading, west of London. He and a woman traveling in the car, believed to be his wife, were pronounced dead at the scene. The woman’s identity could not immediately be confirmed. Silverchair’s Diorama is a dramatic change of sound for a band once dubbed “Nirvana in Pyjamas”. Diorama bares little resemblance to Silverchair’s grungy past. If we had any hints where they were going on previous records, then ‘Emotion Sickness’ off Neon Ballroom comes to find. Silverchair has completed work on their eagerly anticipated label debut. The album – titled “DIORAMA” – is currently slated to be released in North America on July 9th.
