British prosecutors described the guitarist for renowned rock band R.E.M. as having acted like a naughty child on a plane in April during the first day of his air-rage trial in a London courtroom. Peter Buck, who avoided photographers and fans at the entrance to the court, pleaded not guilty to charges of assaulting cabin crew, being drunk on an aircraft, and damaging property on board a British Airways flight from Seattle to London. Depeche Mode Says Europe Music 'Terror-Resistant'


British band Depeche Mode said on Thursday the September 11 suicide hijack attacks in the United States had hardly affected European musicians and concert-goers. He contrasted this to the U.S. situation, where the music industry had slowed down. Apple Cell Phone-Sized Player Holds 1,000 Songs


Apple Computer Inc. unveiled on Tuesday a portable music player that can hold an entire music collection and takes Apple outside its core computer business for the first time in eight years. Snoop Busted for Pot


Snoop Dogg (a.k.a. Calvin Broadus) was hit with marijuana possession charges after two of his tour buses were pulled over for speeding just west of Cleveland. Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers stopped the buses on I-90, where Snoop’s buses were en route to tonight’s show in Milwaukee as part of the appropriately named Puff, Puff, Pass Tour. About 200 grams of marijuana were found on one bus, and Snoop and two other passengers were charged with the misdemeanor possession offense, which carries a maximum penalty of a $100 fine.
