Yellowcard is officially back with two new singles—“Better Days” and “honestly i”—pulled from their forthcoming full-length album Better Days, due out October 10 via Big Noise Music. The 10-track release marks the band’s first new album since 2016’s self-titled record and finds them returning with major star power in their corner. Executive produced by blink-182’s Travis Barker, Better Days will feature guest appearances from Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio and Avril Lavigne.
“We are focused on this chapter of our career being about happiness,” frontman Ryan Key shares. “This is the most fun we’ve had making a video in 20 years and we hope everyone has a smile on their face when they watch it.”
He continues, “I started the record as one version of myself and came out the other side changed. I went in knowing I needed help. I came out of it writing songs like I was 19 again.”
Arriving alongside a nostalgia-soaked music video, the band laments about better days while channeling iconic ‘80s film characters—including Tom Cruise’s Top Gun pilot and Michael J. Fox’s Marty McFly from Back To The Future. Dressed in era-specific costumes and surrounded by VHS tapes, they perform inside a makeshift Blockbuster they’ve fittingly named Better Days.
