Following a series of recent singles, Trash Boat has unleashed their latest offering, “Better Than Yesterday.” The track comes from the UK-based group’s forthcoming full-length record, Heaven Can Wait, which arrives via Hopeless Records on October 4. You can preorder or pre-save the album here.
“This song centres around the classic saying ‘comparison is the death of joy,’” vocalist Tobi Duncan shares. “It creeps into everything I do, who does what I do better than me, who makes more money, who’s better looking, who’s stronger, who’s in a bigger band, focusing on everything that I haven’t (yet) managed to achieve and putting myself down because of it, rather than bigging myself up for what I have already done or focusing on achieving more.”
He continues, “This feeling can make you lose faith with anything creative and has crept into my mind regarding music multiple times,” he adds. The song is a reminder to not try to be better than anyone other than yesterdays self, the only person you should focus on beating!”
Trash Boat will be hitting the road on their first-ever North American headline tour with Downswing and Crooked Teeth as support for the Heaven Can Wait Tour. Tickets are available to purchase here.
