At long last, The Pretty Reckless is back to ignite your soul with more fiery rock ‘n’ roll. The Taylor Momsen-fronted project launched “For I Am Death,” the first taste of their new era. That’s right, The Pretty Reckless has even more in store in the near future. This marks their first release since 2022’s Other Worlds.
Momsen shared, “With ‘For I Am Death,’ I want the music to speak for itself, allowing the listener to decide what it means to them. The interpretation of the song might align with my own, or it might come from the heart of the audience. Either way, I’m excited to see what people take away from it and what it means to them. Oh, and rock and roll will never die.”
The songstress also shared with Audacy, “I think that to me, that’s what music is. I can sit here and tell you exactly where I was when I wrote it, and what I was thinking about, and all of those things, but that doesn’t actually give you the meaning of the song, that just can kind of help explain how I got there. The meaning of music, it transforms over time, and honestly, what it means to me isn’t what it means anymore because it’s out in the world. Once it’s out in the world, it doesn’t belong to me anymore, it belongs to you and to anyone who’s listening to it.”
