August 15, The Maine will don Arizona Diamondbacks jerseys instead of their matching suits as John O’Callaghan throws out the ceremonial first pitch at Chase Field in Phoenix. The Maine hail from Phoenix as the first pitch is a huge honor for baseball lover O’Callaghan. “I’ve been a fan of both music and baseball since I left my mother’s womb, and have been fortunate to play both though only music professionally,” O’Callaghan said. “Tomorrow, I will be trying out for my favorite professional baseball team, thee Arizona Diamondbacks. Technically, I’m just throwing the first pitch, but I figure if it’s a good enough pitch I could potentially make the 40 player playoff roster.” Who knows, if he plays baseball half as good as he sings he definitely has a chance.
The Maine will be returning to Phoenix again on November 30 for their third engagement of 2019 and the last date of the Mirror Tour when they rock The Van Buren. The Mirror Tour is an immersive audio and visual experience bigger than anything the band has ever done. The tour, in support of their album You Are OK starts October, 21 at Paper Tiger in San Antonio Texas and tickets are on sale now.
