In DC’s Wharf district, just a few blocks away from the National Mall, a new music venue has opened to bring the noise. The Anthem has already put on over 40 shows since Foo Fighters launched its grand opening in October, and next year’s lineup is stacked already. We’re talking The Killers, Lorde, Walk The Moon, and a whole lot more. Vice President Joe Biden is even stopping by on his American Promise tour. And it all started when Monty Hoffman, and his plan to redevelop the area, met concert promoter Seth Hurwitz—aka the owner of the prestigious 9:30 Club.
CBS This Morning stopped by the venue to take a tour and tell the independent success story of how The Anthem came to be. Watch the video below, and keep an eye out for all your favorite bands playing The Anthem in the near future!
