If you’ve been paying attention to the Twitter-geek-verse lately, you’ll have seen the hashtag #OperationBlueMilk floating around. If it’s ringing some faint memory-bells, here’s a reminder: Blue Milk was Luke Skywalker’s Tatooine drink of choice, and now it’s being used as a codename for a secret Star Wars book project. And if you’re into all the tiny details and background characters that bring the Star Wars universe to life, this one’s for you.

In celebration of Star Wars’ 40th anniversary, Del Rey is going to release Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View, which will spotlight on all the characters in the universe that didn’t get their own movie: the droids, the cantina band, those awesome X-wing pilots… all the weirdos, heroes, and villains that made us fall in love with the entire story. Bringing together more than 40 authors, this anthology of 40 stories will be told from the perspective of different background characters from A New Hope. You’ll be able to pick up the anthology on October 3 from here—with all proceeds going to First Book, a leading nonprofit that provides new books and learning materials to educators and organizations serving children in need.a galaxy far far away
