Slipknot's Music Linked With Murder

Music from heavy metal cult band Slipknot has been associated with the murder of a 22-year-old man in California, according to the San Bernadino Police.

Twenty-year old Jason Harris and his 16-year-old friend Amber Riley have been charged with stabbing and slashing the throat of Terry Ray Taylor in April. According to the San Bernadino County Sun, police and detectives say the two accused suspects were listening to Slipknot’s music before and after they killed Taylor.

Slipknot issued a “no comment” on being associated with the murder and the possibility the defense will use their music as a scapegoat.

In court, Harris and Riley quoted lyrics from the Slipknot song “Disasterpiece,” which appears on the 2001 album Iowa. They recited the lines, “I wanna slit your throat and f-k the wound/I wanna push my face in and feel the swoon.”

Prosecutors argue that Harris and Riley had been plotting to kill Taylor for months.

Harris and Riley are being held without bail. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for later this week.
