Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash was barred from the band’s live comeback on 29 and 30 December 2001. The shows, at Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Café, in the US, were the band’s first for eight years. However, the only original member playing last weekend was frontman Axl Rose. It was Axl who threatened to walk out if he saw any of his former bandmates in the audience, reports ABC News. Slash was reportedly told the news at the door.
According to the NME, there were problems. Axl Rose walked off stage on a number of occasions due to problems with his mic. Tickets for the 1,400-capacity shows did not sell out until the night.
