Sir Elton John Graces Joe Louis Arena On October 13

The ever versatile and charismatic Elton John will perform in Detroit for one night only at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2001, at Joe Louis Arena.

This is Sir Elton’s first Detroit appearance since his unprecedented pairing with Detroit’s own Eminem at this year’s Grammy Awards. As the most popular recording artist of the ’70s, Elton John will perform his beloved music for fans hailing from many different backgrounds and ages. Elton John’s effortless melodic skills combined with his versatile style have enabled him to record a Top 40 single every year from 1970 to 1996. He’s known for such favorites as “Your Song,” “Benny and the Jets,” “Rocket Man,” “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” and “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.”

Tickets ($47.50, $57.50, $87.50, with VIP seats available) will go on sale Saturday, September 8, at noon, and may be purchased at the Joe Louis Arena and Fox Theatre box offices and all Ticketmaster locations, including Marshall Field’s, Harmony House and Hockeytown Authentics in Troy (without service charges).
