Rewind to 2023: Rico Nasty joined Paramore on stage in LA at the Kia Forum to perform the band’s breakout hit “Misery Business”—a moment that wasn’t just nostalgic for her, but prophetic. Now in 2025, Rico released her latest album Lethal on May 16, marking her debut on Fueled By Ramen, the very label that launched Paramore’s legendary discography—including All We Know Is Falling, Riot!, brand new eyes, their self-titled record, and After Laughter.

What could’ve been a one-off performance shaped Rico’s vision for her future. In an interview with Billboard, she recalls the invitation. “Hayley Williams of Paramore, she was on tour and she was like, ‘Come out, do a ‘Misery Business,’ how she always does,” Rico shares. “And I was like, ‘Okay, of course, like, stop it. All you gotta do is just say the word, Miss Queen. I’m coming, I’m coming.’ So I go, I do it.”

She continues, “It was an amazing experience. And it felt like, I don’t know, my inner child really jumped out. And I hadn’t seen her in a while. Like I hadn’t seen her in a while on stage. I hadn’t seen her in a while backstage, like amongst the team like that. So I was like, ‘Wow, like this feels nice.’ And then I got to talk to Hayley.”

More than just a performance, it was a revelation. “I remember going home and feeling like, I want a team like that. I want people who just support me, and I’m not being forced to be anything that I’m not, and it just goes with the flow.”
