Polyphia‘s own Tim Henson just revealed a new solo endeavor with the launch of his single, “Original Sin.” The track, entirely self-produced and mixed, leans heavily on a nylon-string guitar, the same guitar that brought Polyphia’s “Playing God” to life.
Henson shares, “‘Original Sin’ started as something digital with synths and keys, but once I translated it to my nylon-string guitar, everything clicked. I wanted to play with contradiction: a waltz that feels like it’s driving forward, something elegant but uncomfortable.”
He adds, “Conceptually, it’s about choice. If you’re forced to do the right thing, it doesn’t mean anything. That idea—freedom, temptation, consequence—is something I’ve been thinking about a lot.”
Check out the new song and official music video below. Plus, for all of you guitar players, Henson has already dropped the tabs.
For fans of the instrumental group, fear not! Henson isn’t leaving the band anytime. After all, the band’s fifth record is currently in the works. And even though they don’t have any tour dates listed, our fingers are crossed for good news in the coming year.
