Papa Roach continues to ramp up its promotional appearances in support of its second major-label album, Lovehatetragedy, which arrives June 18 from DreamWorks Records. The Northern California band is currently in Europe hyping the release, while its first big splash back home in the United States will be when it hits the road in mid-July as part of the Anger Management tour, also featuring Eminem, Ludacris, and the X-ecutioners.
Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix (previously known as Coby Dick) said that the group is going to do its best to represent rock on the Anger Management tour. “That’s gonna be off the hook. I think that tour’s gonna be cool ’cause it’s like we’re the only rock band on that tour so we’re just gonna stick out like a sore thumb on that thing. It’ll be good too ’cause, like, this new record’s more rock too so, you know, we’ll be able to bring the rock to those kids that, you know, are into hip-hop but still kinda hit ’em ’cause we do got, you know, hip-hop beat in our music,” he says.
Papa Roach is currently working up a medley of hip-hop classics as part of its set as well, Shaddix said.
The band plans a headlining tour following Anger Management.
