After appearing onstage with YUNGBLUD in Salt Lake City, Steve-O of Jackass fame released a special Wild Ride! podcast episode with the Idols artist on September 4. During their chat, YUNGBLUD shared tales of how he first met Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and the advice he received from the “Crazy Train” singer.
When longtime friend Kelly Osbourne couldn’t make it to YUNGBLUD’s “The Funeral” music video shoot, she sent in her parents and the rest is history. “Ozzy, for me, my whole life, has been my north star because I’ve just been mental and crazy and fucking out there. And he was accepted for his madness, and he was loved for his madness,” YUNGBLUD tells Steve-O. “And a lot of people ridiculed me, so I’d turn to him.”

Notably, YUNGBLUD shared Ozzy’s rider for the music video shoot, which included a French baguette, salami, and ginger beer. “He made me a salami sandwich the first time I met him, and we just became really close,” he shares.
Beyond this anecdote, YUNGBLUD noted Ozzy’s advice that’s stuck with him the most: “Never compromise, they’ll get it later.” Sharing his love for the Osbournes, YUNGBLUD notes that he wouldn’t be here without them. Check out the full interview below where the duo explore Ozzy’s farewell show, talk Bludfest, and much more.
Plus, be sure to catch YUNGBLUD at the Video Music Awards on Sunday, September 7 at 8 PM ET as he pays tribute to Ozzy during the show.
