‘NSYNC, Shaggy and Tim McGraw are slated to perform at the 2001 Billboard Music Awards, taking place December 4 in Las Vegas. The event will be held at the MGM Grand Garden and broadcast live on Fox, according to the trade magazine. The Billboard Music Awards are given out based on year-end sales.
John Mellencamp will be given the 2001 Billboard Century Award, the magazine’s highest recognition for distinguished creative achievement, at the ceremony. Mellencamp will become the 10th Century Award recipient since the honor’s inception in 1992. Randy Newman received the prize last year.
Sisqó took home the lion’s share of awards at the 2000 Billboard Music Awards with six, including one for Top New Artist.
