Florida rockers, Neurotica, have jumped to the main stage on the August 3rd Ozzfest date at the Polaris Amphitheatre in Columbus, OH. The band will kick things off at 5pm.
Audience reaction to Neurotica’s blistering set has been so intense that a few weeks ago tour organizers bumped up the band’s performance to a later, more desirable timeslot on the second stage. After Ozzy Osbourne announced last week that he’d be leaving the tour for three weeks in order to be with wife Sharon while she undergoes chemotherapy treatments, tour organizers made some adjustments to the lineup.
“We feel proud to be the first band to step up and help Ozzy and his family get through these hard times. We’re looking forward to the opportunity to play the main stage. It’s a dream,” says Neurotica frontman, Kelly Shaefer.
In other news, Neurotica has announced that their blazing live version of the Beatle’s classic, “I Am The Walrus,” will be featured on the heavily-anticipated, Ozzfest 2002 CD, due out in August. ROLLING STONE raved, “Want heavy metal for breakfast? These guys are first on the Ozzfest schedule. Reason to set your alarm clock: an excellent cover of ‘I Am The Walrus.'”
The Ozzfest 2002 compilation features Ozzy Osbourne, System of a Down, Rob Zombie, Black Label Society, Drowning Pool, Adema, Down, Hatebreed, Messuggah, Lost Prophets, Flaw, Ill Nino, Soil and PulseUltra.
