Nelly, Dave Matthews Band and an all-star bluegrass tribute to the “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” soundtrack have been added to the performance lineup at this month’s Grammy Awards ceremony.
Nelly will take part in a previously announced performance by ‘NSYNC, while the “O Brother” collaboration will include Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, Ralph Stanley, Gillian Welch and the Soggy Bottom Boys (Dan Tyminski and Pat Enright), a spokesperson for the Recording Academy said Monday (February 4).
Also added to the 44th annual Grammy Awards ceremony on February 27 are Gwen Stefani and Gloria Estefan as presenters, joining Janet Jackson, Britney Spears and Diana Krall.
U2 and Alicia Keys were previously announced as performers (see “U2, Alicia Keys Performing At Grammys; Britney, Janet Presenting”) and comedian Jon Stewart was announced as the host.
Dave Matthews Band and Nelly are each nominated for one Grammy, DMB’s “The Space Between” for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocal and Nelly’s “Ride Wit Me” for Best Rap Solo Performance.
The “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” soundtrack, which has ignited a renaissance in bluegrass music, will vie for Album of the Year. Three tracks from the disc are competing for other awards, including one from Krauss, who is up for four additional Grammys.
The Grammy Awards ceremony will be held at Los Angeles’ Staples Center and broadcast on CBS from 8-11 p.m. ET.
