Have you ever wondered what it would sound like if emo-punkers My Chemical Romance and the beloved Hannah Montana character collided for a crossover? This writer sure has, and today, that itch has been scratched.
Earlier this week, an image from the Billboard Albums chart dated November 11, 2006, began circulating across social media platforms showcasing MCR’s The Black Parade secured at No. 2 and Hannah Montana’s self-titled album at No. 1. The image donned the caption, “i feel like we as a society don’t talk enough about the november 2006 album charts.”
This unlikely and rather nostalgic clash has since inspired a mashup that features Gerard Way’s impassioned vocals from My Chemical Romance’s “This Is How I Disappear” layered over the bouncy instrumentals of “The Other Side Of Me,” courtesy of Disney’s favorite pop star, Hannah Montana. While it’s certainly not an official collaboration, this mashup is the best of both worlds.

While Miley Cyrus retired her iconic Hannah Montana persona in 2011—with the show’s final episode airing that January—My Chemical Romance is far from calling it quits following their return in 2019.
