The award for ‘Most Punk Rock Parenting Move EVER’ goes to Charlie Winter. Sunday, June 2nd, Paige Winter, Charlie’s Daughter was attacked by a shark while swimming at beautiful Fort Macon State Park in North Carolina. In an effort to free his daughter, the Marine, Fire Fighter, and Paramedic punched the shark repeatedly. TOUGHEST DAD EVER. First responders worked together on the beach to help Paige then she was flown by helicopter to the hospital where she is recovering from life-saving measures and the loss of her leg. Being awesome must be genetic because after surgery the 17-year-old has stood by her convictions. In a statement released by the hospital, her sustained principles were shared: ‘Despite this unfortunate circumstance, Paige is an unwavering advocate for the marine life and the animals who live in the water. She wishes for people to continue to respect sharks in their environment and their safety.’ She’s got a sense of humor too. She told her mom that she wants everyone to know “Sharks are still good people”. That’s our kind of girl. We’re pulling for you Paige.
