This fall, from the creators of ABC’s Black-ish and Grown-ish, comes the third element of the Johnson family’s world – Mixed-ish. Rainbow Johnson (Tracee Ellis Ross) is a wife, doctor, and mother who realizes that her children don’t know her story, so she’s telling it. Narrated by “Bow”, the series follows her childhood after living on a commune that the government might have labeled a radicalized cult in violation of over 47 ATF regulations then entering society at the age of 12 in 1985. Bow’s parents (Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Tika Sumpter) send their biracial children, Rainbow (Arica Himmel), Johan (Ethan William Childress), and Santa Monica (Mykal-Michelle Harris), out into the world with no idea what mixed is and the worst hippie clothes ever. Writer-creator Kenya Barris and writer Peter Saji expand the Johnson world with the warm relatable hilarity of Black-ish. On ABC Tuesdays this fall beginning September 24 the show is sure to be another family hit that everyone can enjoy together.
