Maverick Recording Company and Activision, Inc. have partnered with world championship skateboarder Tony Hawk to release Music From and Inspired by Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. Scheduled to hit stores October 16th, the soundtrack, to be released by Maverick, is the music accompaniment to Activision’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater(TM) 3 video game, to be released for the PlayStation ® 2 computer entertainment system and PlayStation ® Game Console on October 30th.
In addition to the audio CD, Music From and Inspired by Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 will also include a first of its kind, enhanced CD, Tony Hawk Inside Out, which will contain exclusive preview footage of the long awaited game, an extensive interview where Tony gives his perspective on skating, family, business, and music. A ‘day in the life’ segment features a private tour of Tony’s house, behind-the-scenes footage of Tony practicing at his local skate park, and rare footage of his trademark trick, the elusive 900 and much more. The CD-Rom will also offer fans a Tony Hawk Winamp Player with a bonus track, a chance to win one of two autographed Tony Hawk decks, photo gallery and wipeout reel and Tony Hawk radio, featuring even more additional bonus tracks.
Music From and Inspired by Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 is the essence of Tony Hawk’s lifestyle – the first of its kind to capture the music that inspires a world champion, shared for the first time to skateboarders all over the world. A thirteen-track mix of some of today’s finest in punk, hip hop and modern rock – from SoCal Punk legends NOFX to the socially-charged Pennywise to MTV’s “Total Request Live” champions Sum 41 – Music From and Inspired by Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3’s tracks were inspired by Hawk’s own musical taste. “Since I’m such a big music fan, it seemed only natural to make a soundtrack based on the game,” says Tony Hawk. “Certain types of music are closely associated with skateboarding, and I wanted to represent that on a CD.”
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 is the revolutionary sequel to the best-selling sports game of 2000. Offering eight massive levels filled with people, traffic, and other interactive elements, the environments are brought to life with richer graphics and advanced special effects. Smoother, life-like animations and significantly improved tricks capture the style of 13 of the world’s best skateboarding pros. In addition, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 will have online capabilities so that players can skate against their friends from around the world. The title is currently rated “T” (Teen) by the ESRB.
