Hasidic reggae rapper Matisyahu and rock act Chiodos will join the 2008 Vans Warped Tour lineup for limited dates this July, Billboard.com has learned.
Matisyahu, who joins the Vans Warped Tour for the first time, will appear in the traveling rock festival July 9-11 and on July 13 at St. John’s Country Fairgrounds in Jacksonville, Florida. Vans Warped Tour veteran Chiodos joins the trek on July 18 at Comerica Park in Detroit.
Matisyahu has a handful of other summer concert appearances lined up, including sets at Milwaukee’s Summerfest (June 30) and the inaugural Pemberton Festival in British Columbia (July 27). The reggae rapper is currently working on the follow-up album to 2006’s “Youth.”
Chiodos recently finished a tour of arenas alongside Linkin Park in support of its sophomore album, “Bone Palace Ballet.”
The six-piece act also has festival appearances booked at Tucson, Arizona’s Pima County Fairgrounds (May 16) and the Download Festival in the U.K. village of Castle Donington (June 14).
The artists join previously announced Vans Warped Tour 2008 performers Paramore, Gym Class Heroes, Jack’s Mannequin, Against Me!, Pennywise, Reel Big Fish, Cobra Starship, Every Time I Die, Angels and Airwaves, Aggrolites, As I Lay Dying, the All-American Rejects and the Academy Is…, among many others.
The 14th edition of the 46-date trek begins June 20 at the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds in Pomona, California, and runs through August 17 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
