After DE’WAYNE’s 2024 album JUNE, the momentum continues—this time with Leon Knight in the spotlight. Knight has released his new single “Yes I Do,” a groove-driven, swagger-loaded track featuring DE’WAYNE.

Sharing insight into the creative process on social media ahead of the release, Knight explains, “This record started as a jam with me and my dawg @powerspleasant with the magic ear at @defjam studios. I was playing keys and mumbling gibberish. I burned the midnight oil, came back the next day, changed some chords around. @yeahdewayne walks in, hears the demo playing and the rest was cosmic.”

“’Yes I Do’ is the ultimate sassy funk rock anthem,” Knight shares in a press release. “It’s got everything I love: vintage drum machines, sassy synth lines, that classic rock and roll rhythm, and loud guitar solos. It’s us saying, ‘Yeah, we really live this sh*t.’”
He continues, “It’s also a canon event for me as a producer because I’ve found a way to blend my vintage sonic influences while making a record that hits just as hard in the club as any modern rap record.”
