So-Cal indie rockers Lavalove just dropped the Valentine’s Day anthem for everyone who hates the holiday with “Sniffin’ Around.” The easy, breezy vocals and sonics will hook listeners instantly. Despite the dazzling vibes, the lyrics could inspire a horror movie, and we’re here for it.
Vocalist and guitarist Tealarose Coy shares, “We wanted to write a song that just felt nostalgic and easy to dance to, even with darker themes. The music and background vocals are very much ‘California Cheerleading,’ but the lyrics are about murdering your cheating boyfriend. It dives into the idea of letting your paranoia take control. We loved the idea of leaving it open-ended, how the story actually goes, but naturally agreeing with the narrator. We support women’s rights and wrongs!”
