KJ Apa is looking a little different nowadays. Internet sleuths caught onto the Riverdale actor’s new project when he began posting on TikTok with the name Mr. Fantasy—some videos being more unhinged than others. Donning a wig with a brown bob and straight-across bangs, Apa is letting his freak flag fly, speaking in a British accent with vibrant vintage-style clothing.
While he hasn’t confirmed or denied the new musical project, onlookers clearly compared Apa’s real tattoos to Mr. Fantasy’s, and well, they’re a match. Plus, Mr. Fantasy’s Instagram page commented on Apa’s most recent post…so…it’s pretty obvious. Not to mention, Riverdale co-star Lili Reinhart even commented on a song promo TikTok, “Oh my god.”
While some initially thought this may be a teaser for a new acting project, Mr. Fantasy revealed his debut single, “Mr. Fantasy,” a funky, synth-laden, sultry R&B-pop-infused track.
Notably, this is not Apa’s first musical venture. He previously released a full album, Clocks, in 2021 with 10 indie-folk-laced tracks.
