Jojo Rabbit, a new film from “Visionistical” director Taika Waititi, comes to theaters on October 18. If you’re not excited then it’s just because you haven’t seen the trailer. Jojo, a young boy in Hitler’s army has his racist and nationalist beliefs challenged when he finds out his mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their home. In the film, Waititi plays Jojo’s imaginary friend Adolf Hitler. Yep, it’s weird, hilarious satirical perfection weird. When asked why he chose to play Hitler, Waititi, who is Jewish, said: “The answer’s simple, what better fuck you to the guy”. Agreed. The story is adapted from the book “Caging Skies” by Christine Leunens. The movie boasts an amazing cast featuring Sam Rockwell, Scarlett Johansson, Rebel Wilson, Thomasin MacKenzie, and newcomer Roman Griffin Davis as Jojo. With the artistic style and the brilliance of Taika Waititi, Jojo Rabbit is sure to be fantastically entertaining.
