Jane’s Addiction has announced 10 dates for its forthcoming Jubilee Tour with Live. The tour kickoff is scheduled for October 2 at the Centrum in Worcester, Massachusetts. So far, dates run through October 23, but a second leg is in the planning stages.
Femi Kuti will appear on dates scheduled between October 6 and October 23. Tickets for the Worcester show and a show at New York’s Madison Square Garden go on sale tomorrow (August 31).
One dollar from every ticket sold will go to the Jubilee Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Jane’s singer Perry Farrell to work with other charities worldwide promoting awareness and actions of Jubilee, the Judeo-Christian concept of redemption and forgiveness.
Farrell told LAUNCH he wants to keep the format of the shows open to include solo material from guitarist Dave Navarro, solo material from his latest album, Song Yet To Be Sung, and special guests. “I’d love to see it go, just pure musical. To me like I say, I tell the guys, ‘It’s music. It’s an evening of good music. As long as it’s good music, put it out.’ If Dave’s playing one, if I play one, I might DJ, bring in people to do things. You know I’d love to see Barry White out there playing on a piano, Stevie Wonder. Let’s bring music up and see what happens to this place.”
