Incubus returns to the record bins tomorrow (October 23) with the release its much-anticipated album, Morning View, which features the single “Wish You Were Here.”
The album is the third full-length, major-label effort by the Los Angeles-based group, but the first since the group burst into the spotlight with the double-platinum Make Yourself and its smash single “Drive.” Morning View’s arrival comes as Make Yourself still clings to a spot on the Billboard 200, sitting at Number 128 in its 98th week on the album chart.
“The easiest thing in the world would be to repeat the same equations that worked for us in the past, but with repetition would come demise,” said Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd in a statement. “We needed to start fresh and rewire our transmitters. And in doing so, we wrote what is in my opinion our best record yet.”
Incubus will help hype the new release with in-store appearances this week at Tower Records in New York City (October 24), Tower Records in Concord, California (October 25); and at the Wherehouse in Hollywood (October 26). The Hollywood appearance marks the first time the L.A. band has participated in a signing in its hometown.
