Incubus Plans North American Tour

Modern rock act Incubus will kick off a North American tour April 11 in Portland, Ore., in support of its latest Immortal/Epic set “Morning View.” The 50-date tour will be sponsored by Honda Civic, which put Blink-182 and Everclear out on the road last year on separate tours. An exclusive weeklong online ticket pre-sale will launch at 10 a.m. ET Saturday (Feb. 16) at civictour.com.

“The band is really excited to be involved with Honda and the Civic Tour because it gives us a chance to play much bigger venues at a ticket price [$25] that we think is very reasonable,” bassist Dirk Lance said in a statement. “On top of that, we’re able to offer our fans the chance to win a new Civic Si that’s been customized by the band at a price that seems about as good as you can get! God knows it’s a better version of the Hondas that we first owned.”

Along with the pre-sale and contest, the Civic Tour Web site will feature updated information on the band and the tour, as well as exclusive streaming audio and video, and more features yet to be announced. In some markets, fans will also be able to win tickets to see Incubus through special Civic Tour radio promotions that will include a chance to meet the band.

Incubus is in New York – appearing last night (Feb. 14) on CBS’ “Late Night With David Letterman” and today on MTV’s “Total Request Live” – taking a brief break from international touring. The group recently wrapped a European run, and will visit Japan for five shows beginning Feb. 25, then it’s on to Australia and New Zealand through March 23.

“Morning View” debuted last November at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 1.25 million copies in the U.S. to date, according to SoundScan. First single “Wish You Were Here” peaked at No. 3 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart and No. 3 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks tally.

The band’s latest single, “Nice To Know You,” is No. 10 on the Modern Rock list and No. 12 on the Mainstream round up this week.
