LA-based pop punk band In Her Own Words has released another single off their forthcoming EP Left In The Dark titled “96 Hours.” While the band is known for music that pulls at your heartstrings, this may be their most impassioned offering to date. Accompanying the single is a music video that compliments the emotional nature of the song. This is the fifth single off the EP including “Beg For More,” “Story Of Us,” “I Think It’s Time,” and “House Party.”

The song begins with soft acoustic guitar picking paired with delicate violin and vocalist Joey Fleming’s powerful vocals. The atmosphere is immediately affected with the opening lyrics, “I’ve been awake for days, cause when I fall asleep I see your face.” Drowning the listener in the song’s message of loss as it builds to an explosive climax. Shattered glass surrounding the band in the video visually mirrors the broken heart left in the message of the lyrics.

On the new single and music video, Fleming says, “The song conveys deep sorrow over a sudden breakup, highlighting the struggle to reconcile cherished memories with the pain of loss. It explores feelings of regret and confusion, questioning the role played in the relationship’s collapse while reflecting on dreams that now seem unattainable.”

“This new era of the band feels like what I’ve been trying to accomplish since I joined,” he adds. “Andretti and I click on so many levels in the studio… I feel like I’ve finally found my place as a songwriter. It’s finally translating into the music.”

Left In The Dark is set to release on November 15 via Thriller Records. You can pre-order the EP here. You catch In Her Own Words performing at the debut Ceremony Festival this December. They will be joined by the likes of JXDN, KennyHoopla, Mod Sun, Point North, Grayscale, and many more.
