iM Networks, Inc., the leading provider of Internet solutions for consumer electronics companies, today announced it has signed a distribution agreement with Virgin Radio, the UK’s most listened to commercial radio station. Now music fans can listen to its digital content as easily as they would any regular FM station.
Through this relationship, Virgin Radio will be distributed over iM Networks’ iM Tuning(TM) Service, placing Virgin Radio on the “Best of Planet(TM)” programming through a growing number of iM Radio ® Tuners, including the Philips FW-i1000, Acer iRhythm, iRhythm K.O. and iM Radio Tuner Software, as well as upcoming products from OEM partnerships.
“Digital technology is fast altering the musical landscape for radio listeners and providing people with choices on a global scale,” stated Steve Taylor, Group Enterprises Director of Virgin Radio. “Additionally, digital radio listeners need no longer be bound to their desktops – through partnerships such as this one with iM Networks, we are able to provide access to music to people tuning in from around the world, remotely, regardless of where they are listening from in their home or office.”
“iM Networks is thrilled to have Virgin Radio as part of our “Best of Planet” programming,” stated David Frerichs, co-founder of iM Networks. “Virgin Radio is consistently ranked as one of the Top 5 Internet radio stations globally and they personify what iM Tuning represents through the “Best of Planet” programming offerings.”
