Tick tock, tick tock…the time is getting closer to HBO’s adaptation of Watchmen: The first teaser has dropped with a chilling note. Based on the legendary characters from DC, this version takes us into Watchmen’s dark world, where “superheroes” aren’t welcome. But they are coming—and no one can stop them.
The trailer suggests the world is on the brink of a war between the vigilantes and the police—and we can’t wait to see where the show takes this storyline. The show creators have plans to remix Alan Moore’s iconic graphic novel but, from the tone of the teaser, we know there’s going to be plenty of thrilling goodness from the characters we know and love.
HBO has released the official synopsis for the series: “Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, this drama series from executive producer Damon Lindelof embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name while attempting to break new ground of its own. The cast includes: Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Hong Chau, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, and James Wolk.”
