Connecticut’s Hatebreed is getting ready to drop another album at the end of this month, following up on their highly successful 2002 album, Perseverance.
The album will be titled The Rise Of Brutality and is scheduled to hit stores on October 28.
The Rise Of Brutality will mark the band’s third full-length album (their debut record, Under The Knife, is technically an EP) and second release on Universal. The Rise Of Brutality will feature 12 new songs in total.
There’s already a cute little four-song sampler of the album in the hands of radio radio and journalist types, which I can say is pretty off the hook. Hatebreed vocalist and mastermind Jamey Jasta told ChartAttack about the songs chosen for the sampler while in Toronto for a show on September 21, saying, “Really what that sampler is, is just a taste of four of the songs. I would say, two songs that are the heaviest and two songs that are the catchiest.”
“This Is Now” and “Live For This” will be the album’s first two singles and videos will be made for both.
Jasta told us about his plans for the band’s first new video, “This Is Now.” The shoot went down on October 1 at the Float Nightclub in New York City.
“It’s gonna be kind of like a two-part video. Just sort of like all the mayhem from the shows. I think what we’re gonna do is just tell everyone, ‘Look, come down to this place and just go fucking crazy for the whole thing,’ and just record it all. It’s not gonna be a show, it’s gonna be a real video shoot where people can come for free and just wile out,” he says.
In other Hatebreed news, the band will be appearing on their third major motion picture soundtrack for the upcoming horror remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. According to Jasta, soundtrack organizers wanted to use an older Hatebreed song and chose “Below The Bottom” from Perseverance. Other bands to appear on the soundtrack include Pantera, Static-X and Lamb Of God.
