Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was ejected from a Southwest Airlines flight on Thursday because, as he said in a tweet, “My pants sagged too low.”
Armstrong reportedly was asked by a flight attendant to hike his pants higher, but the singer responded by asking if there weren’t “better things to do than worry about that.” The attendant continued to insist that he pull up his pants and eventually kicked Armstrong and his traveling companion off the plane.
A Southwest representative was quick to respond to Armstrong via Twitter and arranged for him to get on the next available flight, but this is not the first strike for the company – in a highly-publicized incident in early 2010, screenwriter/actor Kevin Smith was kicked off of a Southwest flight for being overweight.
